Dr. Gabriel Gach was born in Wrocław, Poland, in 1984 and came to Germany with his family before the fall of the Iron Curtain. His multicultural background got him interested in foreign countries and cultures in his early childhood years; his favourite book was an atlas. This interest lasted throughout his life and ultimately inspired him to study geography at the University of Göttingen. After a stay abroad in England, various journeys to exotic regions and less exotic jobs, Gabriel completed his doctorate in the field of cultural tourism at the University of Greifswald. Since 2017, the geographer has been living in Cologne and on a full-time basis is responsible for marketing and tourism at the LVR cultural centre Brauweiler Abbey, while also working as a lecturer at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences and as an author of travel books.
