Paul Wennekes is Dutch and studied theology in Tilburg. For more than 25 years, he worked for various foundations as a project manager for pastoral / social projects in the Netherlands and Germany, in Eastern Europe and for a short time also in the Middle East.
In 2018 and 2019, he coordinated the project Monastic Pastoral Care, in which, on an ecumenical basis, the mapping of the future prospects of religious communities in the Netherlands, Flanders and Germany was carried out. Since 2020, he has been coordinating the follow-up project Networking Intentional Christian Communities (NICC), where the focus is on networking between religious communities in the three participating countries, as well as on sharing information and experiences, on promoting more professional communication among these communities, on developing long-term planning and on promoting a more conscious approach to religious heritage.
